There is a mountain of fun to be had here. But the character advancement mechanics have been reworked to take agency away from the player, forcing them to use the skills they can scrounge up instead of building the character they want. While the formula may be a little more visible than we’d like, and the AI could use a shot in the arm, what is here is a thrill ride adventure sure to give fans of the franchise exactly what they are looking for.įar Cry 6 excels in many ways, with stellar visuals, performances, exploration, and story.
